Free ice cream cone coupons are available for your guests! “Praise the Lord, Do Si Do, and Pass the Ice Cream!” We are planning a wonderful sing-along, dance and movement for all ages, and ice cream served by Richmond’s own and famous “Ice Cream Connection.” Check out the flyer on the “Upcoming” bulletin board in the Narthex.

August 29: Holy Baptism, Daughters of the King Induction, and “New Eyes” Sunday: August 29 will be the last combined 9 and 11:15 service at 10:00. This will be a special Sunday with the baptisms of Katie and John Curtis Pulliam. Also, Barbara Dudley will be inducted into the Women of the Cross Chapter of the Daughters of the King. As a special event, following the service the entire congregation will be invited to look at St. David’s, inside and outside, buildings and grounds and see our familiar surroundings with “New Eyes” - as if you were one of the candidates for rector (or any newcomer) visiting St. David’s for the first time! Again, our thanks to Jim Smithson for providing the music for these services so Bonnie and the choir get a break.

Christian Education: Whenever there is a 10:00AM combined worship service, Christian Education will be held at 9:00AM. This includes children, youth and adults.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY: St. David's will participate in a workday on Saturday, Sept. 11. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex. Also, anyone wanting to work must go on the website at www.richmondhabitat.org and register as a volunteer and then go to the project calendar and sign up there also. Just click onto the first line of the day of the 11th and it will automatically put you on the calendar. It's easy!! Please call Joannie Smithson if you have any questions 276-8294 or cell 484-4248.

Are you using the Prayer Request Cards? Just a reminder that the Women of the Cross, St. David’s chapter of the Order of the Daughters of the King, have provided cards on which you can request prayers. These cards will be located near the Order of the Daughters of the King section of the bulletin board. Completed cards can be place in the blue “Prayer Requests” box in the Narthex or, if you prefer, you may still submit your Public Prayer requests to the church office. This service of the Women of the Cross enhances both our intercessory prayers in worship and encourages our pastoral care for one another and others.

Prayers of the People: The names for healing and concern are left on for six weeks. Names for serving country are left on for one year. If you wish the name to remain on longer than the above time please contact the office.

Preschool Registration for 2010-11 School Year There are still openings in the 2 day programs. Applications and brochures are located in the narthex and are also available from the preschool office. If you have any questions or need further information please call our office at 276-5726 or contact Debbie Cosgrove the director.

Flowers: If you have signed up for flowers on the flower chart in the Narthex and did not fill out a “Flowers for St. David’s” form (available at the flower chart), please fill out a form for Dana. Without the form, Dana cannot know how and to whom the flowers are given. If the information is not provided, your name will be listed in the bulletin as just giving the flowers. Other than August 29, Dana has no information for the flowers through the end of the year. If you believe you completed a form, please verify with Dana.
